From your phone to the papers
You tell us what happened. We craft your story, take it to the newsdesks and do the chasing. If your story is published, you are paid.
The short version
-
Tell us what happened
Type it out, or tap record and say it in your own words. Most people take about two minutes. There is nothing to print, post or sign.
You can stop halfway and come back. We keep what you have written so far.
-
We take it to the newsdesks
Our team writes your story up properly and puts it in front of the reporters we already have relationships with, who cover stories like yours.
We get in touch first to hear a bit more and get your quotes. If a journalist needs anything else, we come back to you.
-
You get paid £100
If your story is published, we pay £100 straight to your bank account within 24 hours. You also receive links to the stories you are featured in.
If your story does not get published there is no fee, and nothing for you to pay, ever.
What happens, and when
-
Straight away
You get a reference and a private tracking link
It shows where your story has got to, and you can add photos from it too.
-
Within one working day
A real person reads it
Every story gets an answer, including when the answer is no.
-
Usually the same week
A short conversation
If a newsdesk is likely to want it, we get in touch the way you asked: WhatsApp, a call or email. We ask the questions a journalist would, so the story is told properly and in your words. It usually takes ten to twenty minutes.
-
We craft your story
We turn what you told us into a news story, with your own words as the quotes.
-
Days, sometimes a few weeks
We take it to the newsdesks
From the nationals to the paper where you live. News moves fast, so some stories run within days and some take longer to find the right home.
-
Within 24 hours of it running
It is published, and you are paid £100
We send you the link and pay you by bank transfer. How payment works.
Four simple things
- You are 18 or over
- It is your own story to tell, and it is true
- You have the right to share any photos you send us
- You answer when we get in touch, the way you chose
And four we promise
- We never ask you for money, for anything
- We never invent quotes or change what happened
- We never give your phone number or email to a journalist without asking you. Meta gets a scrambled copy for our adverts
- We never pretend to be a newspaper or a journalist
