Real stories, told properly
We work with journalists and news organisations across the UK to get real people's stories into the press.
Newspapers and news sites need real people. A statistic tells a reader what is happening; a person tells them what it feels like. The stories that get read, shared and remembered are almost always about someone ordinary who went through something out of the ordinary.
Our team places stories with national and regional papers every week. This site is how we find the people behind them.
What we do
You tell us what happened. We get in touch to hear a bit more, take the time to craft your story, and take it to the newsdesks most likely to run it. If it is published, we pay you £100.
What you can expect from us
- Your own words. Your quotes come from what you tell us. We never invent them or change what happened.
- Straight answers. We read every story within one working day and tell you honestly whether we can use it.
- Never a fee. You never pay us anything, not to send a story and not to have it placed.
- Your details are safe with us. We never sell them or add you to mailing lists.
Who we are
This website is run by Send My Story (sendmystory.co.uk).
We are not a newspaper. You can reach us at stories@sendmystory.co.uk.
From your local paper to the nationals.
We have placed work in the national titles below and in around 60 regional papers across England, Scotland and Wales. Local papers are often the fastest place for a story to run, and they count exactly the same for your £100.
